Obv. Lion-headed snake to l., twelve rays round head, coils unusually elaborate. Seven spherical eggs among coils or close by in field. Compare Southesk N9, a human-headed snake "with five small ovoids" within its coil, the only other example that I have seen of the snake guarding eggs. In the field Χνουβις, the first four letters divided by the serpent's neck, the others below; the sigma has four strokes, which is rare in amulet inscriptions.
Rev. The usual symbol.
Serpentine. Broad upright oval, 23 X 19 X 6. Obv. slightly convex, rev. flat.
