Description: Side A upright oval, side B transverse oval, both sides flat. Silver cast of an ancient gem, set in a modern, hinged, gilded silver ring. Shape 8c.
Already at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in 1806.
A: Frontal view of a cock-headed Anguipes in armour, head to right. Right hand raised and holding a whip, left hand holding a round shield, inscribed with ιαω → Ἰάω. B: Greek inscription in three lines: λαιλαμψαπω|μψιθερλαξιμ|αθαρ → voces including Λαϊλαμ.
