Ἰάω

A: Composite Pantheos figure with the head of a jackal and the body of a scarab, standing to front on an Ouroboros cartouche. Head turned left, behind the figure two pairs of wings. Upper arms holding tall scepters, lower arms holding daggers. A bird’s tail projects from the hips on the right, on the left: a whip. The legs are human, feet to left. Inscription in the cartouche: ιαω.
S. Michel connects the motif with a description in a Demotic magical papyrus.
